First Haircut

Getting ready...to remove the mullet.


In the cape....

Anya didn't like the cape so much...she tried furiously to remove it.

Little lock of hair. I wanted to save a decent lock of hair, which meant one side had to be cut a little too short. Maybe she will forgive me one day.

Maybe not...

Anya enjoyed our pumpkin. Rolling it around the house was endless fun!

We tried the rainy day project of playing with shaving cream...

She really liked it, but mostly enjoyed trying to squeeze it in her hands!

Special reading and snuggling time with Daddy.

Her carseat was in the mud room and Papa C and Mama C's house...I walked in and she was trying very hard to buckle in her baby.

Anya found the red wig at Mama C's....she found a new favorite dress up toy!

And the goggles...if only she had put them on along with the wig!

Lately Anya loves projects. She loves "helping." Handing me diapers so I can fold them. Stirring banana peppers in a mixing bowl. She often creates projects out of her own creativity. Here she is moving the onions one by one across the room from the basket to a pitcher she salvaged out of the tupperware cabinet.

And sweeping the floor...

You know when your baby is right there, then you turn around and your heart skips a beat because they are....Gone. Well, Anya pulled a fast one on me...and found a fun hiding spot.

Anya has loved our beach trips this summer. Sun, sand and water. What could be better?

Peek A Boo!

Eating fresh blueberries from the garden with daddy. She could eat her weight in them. I cannot pick with her around because she is so impatient about me giving her some. If I delay, she pulls on the bush trying to help herself.

She now stands on her own and loves walking around the house holding onto our hands. Especially when wearing her new shoes.

Anya with her new shoes...and not much else. She insists on wearing them. When I tried them on her in the store, she cried when I tooke them off.

Two older pictures I just had to post. The first is us enjoying a backyard picnic. The second, her trying on her new sun hat. Too bad she refuses to wear it in the sun.

Peek-A-Boo: The game that never gets boring

Anya loves this "rocking worm." She has been getting on and off by herself for weeks. As she was learning to get on by herself, I would try to give her a boost (I didn't think she could do it alone) and she would get back off in order to try it by herself.

My siblings came over with their kids for a ride on the Silver Comet. Anya tried out her "chariot" for the first time and loved it. She even lay down on the seat for a nap on the say back.

Crawling

Finally...a solid she likes!

We have had a little bit of difficulty with Anya and solids...she just is not all that interested. OK, she hates them and resists vigorously. The other day I was eating a grapefruit and she showed interest, so I gave her some and waited for the "EWW, yuck! That was sour, Mama" face, which came breifly only to be followed by another enthusiastic bite.

Standing

Anya is becoming increasingly mobile, and she has become quite good at pulling up to standing. Here she manoeuvred her way over to a stack of papers which she enjoyed plundering.

One of her favorite spots to pull up is the oven. Probably because it has a nice ledge to grab, and we spend much of our time in the kitchen.

Her latest challenge has been the rocking chair (it moves while she pulls up!) She is quite a risk taker...she certainly does not get that from me.

Sometimes she even shows off by letting go with one hand.
